The Improvement Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation providing consultancy and training services in quality improvement.

Closure of Improvement Foundation

Since 2007, the Improvement Foundation has been at the forefront of quality improvement. We have
focused steadfastly on our mission of enabling and driving continuous quality improvement to produce
better health outcomes for all Australians. We have been privileged to work with a range of

organisations to deliver sustainable, data-driven quality improvement programs that have enhanced the
health of communities across Australia. In particular, our success with delivering the Australian Primary
Care Collaboratives Program and OCHREStreams have been highlights for the organisation and its
dedicated staff.

In recent years, the Improvement Foundation has experienced a changing health care landscape
through structural reforms and more recently the COVID-19 pandemic. The Improvement Foundation
remained agile and restructured to meet the contemporary needs of the health sector, but
subsequently faced a significant and untenable retraction of work arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
In light of current challenges, the directors have made the difficult decision to wind down operations.

It has been a difficult period for the Improvement Foundation; however, I sincerely believe that all persons
associated with the organisation can feel an immense sense of achievement in the contribution they
have made to health care in Australia.

Chair, David Wright

As an organisation, we are grateful to all of the clients who have continued to support us through this
challenging time and the many champions for quality improvement who have inspired us along the way.
I would also like to personally thank each member of the team for their commitment, support and
passion for our work, as well as the board of directors for their leadership and allegiance to improving
the health of all Australians.

Chief Executive Officer, Mia Dhillon
